About Lindstrøm Hotel
Lindstrøm Hotel is idyllically located in Gamle Lærdalsøyri, Lærdal’s old quarter, between beautiful, pastel-coloured wooden buildings. We are open from May to September.
From national romanticism to Scandinavian design
Lindstrøm Hotel has five buildings in all; the newest is from 1985 and the oldest is a beautiful 19th century building in the Swiss style. Both outside and inside, the hotel spans the period from national romanticism to modern Scandinavian design, with work from designers such as Alvar Aalto, Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Hans Brattrud and Torbjørn Afdal.
Three generations of Lindstrøm architects have been involved in the interiors and have put their mark on the hotel. This gives the hotel its quality and its unique style, which varies from room to room.
Our guests come from all parts of the world. The first tourists who came were English salmon anglers and European royalty. Prince Axel of Denmark was the most frequent visitor, so much so that one of the buildings was named after him: “Prince Axel’s cabin”.
Come and experience Lindstrøm Hotel - where old and new stories come together.
